̽»¨ÉçÇø offers a variety of course methods, so you can choose the course format that best meets your needs.  The following options are available:

Web-Enhanced (Face-to-Face)

Method Definition

A course in which more than 50 percent of instructional activity takes place when the student(s) and instructor(s) are in the same physical location.

The course may use online tools and resources to expand learning beyond face-to-face classroom time. The LMS, Brightspace, and Zoom should not be used as the primary way to deliver instruction, but they may be used as enhancements for extra resources, assignments, exams, and similar activities.

Blended

Method Definition

A distance education course in which more than 50 percent but less than 100 percent of instructional activity takes place when the student(s) and instructor(s) are in separate physical locations.

̽»¨ÉçÇø expectation: Instructional activities should be split approximately 50/50 between online asynchronous instruction and face-to-face in-person meetings.

  • Must submit PGP If already approved for Online, you do not have to submit another PGP.

100% Online

Method Definition

A distance education course in which 100 percent of the instructional activity takes place when the student(s) and instructor(s) are in separate physical locations.

Requirements for on-campus or in-person orientation, testing, academic support services, internships, fieldwork, or other non-instructional activities do not exclude a course from this category.

̽»¨ÉçÇø expectation: Synchronous instructional activities delivered through Zoom or similar software should be limited to less than 15 percent per semester. Multiple options should be offered for any online synchronous requirements included within that 15 percent.

Hyflex

Method Definition

A distance education course in which 100 percent of the instructional activity is equitably available through all three methods simultaneously: online, through Zoom, and face-to-face.

Students have the right to choose which method to use at any point throughout the semester. The instructor cannot mandate the method used by the student.

  • Mechanics Basic & Plus
  • Teaching Online: Fundamentals
  • Must take an additional set of courses:
    • Teams or Zoom
    • YuJa
    • Teaching Online: Hyflex
  • Must submit PGP If approved for Hyflex, you will be cleared to teach all other methods.
