̽»¨ÉçÇø's Criminal Justice program helps you prepare for a career in public safety. You can earn a professional certificate in Law Enforcement, Forensic Science, or Policy & Corrections. These programs are designed for students who want to enter the workforce.

What You Can Earn

 Ì½»¨ÉçÇø offers three certificate pathways in Criminal Justice:

  • Law Enforcement Certificate: Prepare for a career in public safety. This certificate is available completely online. You will learn about criminal law, investigation, corrections, and court systems.
  • Forensic Science Certificate: For students interested in crime scene work and evidence analysis. You will learn about crime scene investigation, forensic procedures, and scientific analysis through hands-on coursework.
  • Policy & Corrections Certificate: Learn about corrections, probation, parole, and the systems that help keep communities safe. This certificate prepares students for careers working with both adults and juveniles.

All three certificates prepare students to enter the workforce after completion. Students who qualify may receive financial aid through federal financial aid programs (FAFSA).

̽»¨ÉçÇø's Criminal Justice program is part of the Emergency Services Education division.

You will learn alongside students training in paramedicine, fire service, and emergency management. This creates a professional learning environment from your first day.

Most classes are taught in person and include hands-on learning. Some courses are available online. Talk with your advisor to find out which courses qualify.

If you want to continue your education, ̽»¨ÉçÇø offers an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. This degree transfers as a block to state universities. Through the University Center at ̽»¨ÉçÇø, you can also take bachelor's-level courses from Tarleton State University without leaving the ̽»¨ÉçÇø campus.
